Reflections of 2010

So this was it. 2010.

We are just some hours away from another new decade and like so many other people, reflecting is what I want to do before this year ends.

2010 was a pretty amazing year in many ways. Especially concert- and travelwise though one doesn't go without the other.
I would have never dreamt of visiting Mexico, to be honest as it's not exactly on my list of favourite holiday locations but I was amazed to find out what a lovely place it actually is and it had nothing to do with my 'main reason' for visiting that country.
Spending a good week in Cancun felt like being in paradise and I definitely want to go back there one day.
Seeing Coldplay in Mexico-City, Guadalajara & Monterrey was spectacular and I've had a brilliant time.
Made me see them on their Viva La Vida tour for a total number of 15 shows - quite impressive, right?!
Maybe impressive, maybe just completely insane. I don't care.

I also realized that these concerts-/holiday-trips really make me go through my daily job and the daily life as you have so many good memories to help you keep going strong.

But despite all the good things that happen, there also happen things you can't explain and which just take you by surprise & upset you massively.
Something like that happened to me in late summer and it freaked the hell out of me and I suffered for a good 3 months I guess.

But after every rain there comes sunshine again and so I flew to London again for a weekend to see my newest fave band The Domino State for a free show at the Notting Hill Arts Club and oh wow ...!!!

In case anyone ever reads this, remember their name and if they play anywhere near where you live, try to catch them live. There's hopefully much to come from them.

After all, 2010 was a pretty good year.
I've got a (hopefully further) safe job, with my 25th anniversary to come next year in August. Time flies.
I'm healthy, well probably not really but it could be a lot worse.
I've got my flat & a car.
I've got friends. Not too many but I suppose enough to rely on.
I've got an income I can decide what to spend on and I will always have money to travel & to go to concerts, the two most important things in my life.

So bring on 2011.
6 concerts in the first quarter of the year already and I don't think there's an end in sight.
Surely a new Coldplay album with a new tour which will keep me busy and which will give my anniversary bonus a new home as well.

I hope 2011 will be perfect or at least partly positive for you as well.
Make the most of it!

And if you need to look back, do it only for rejoicing over fond memories.

xx
